Leader and Worshiper

Topic: The roles of youth for Islamic bright future.

Youth relates with the time because we are going to have longer time to be adult than to be young. In Islam, youth is beginning when someone was baligh. Baligh means for a girl she has first time menstruation and for a boy he has first time dream (wet). The age of youth is about 11-22 years old. Less than 11 we call them children and more than 22 we can call them adult. Then what is the matter of youth? There are so many matters. In the transition age like them, we can say it is the golden age of life. It happens because they will find such new things which they didn’t experienced yet and this time is very influencing the future.
Those matters above are close with their function of life as a human. In Islam, function of human have created by The Lord are to be a leader on earth (khalifah) and worship Allah (ibadah/adullah). As well as their pshycal and their psychologycal are growing up, they should hold those responsibilties to be a leader on earth and worship Allah everytime. These are new things they didn’t have experienced when they were childhood. The ability to maximalize it is limited edition.

Here, to be leader and worshiper do not push them to be a president and lead a country, the first they should lead themselves and learn to worship Allah by the right way. The second, they should lead their family, friends and people near them to get closer to Allah. The way they take care of and they told, is also called worship. Then the last, they lead people around the world by their knowledge, skill and capability. If they are EED students, mainly in UIN SUSKA Riau, it means a lot. They can teach people to be better and aware not only about the world but the day after die, they can write about Islamic science in Al-Quran, history, wisdom, and etc. Then share it on the mass media or share in the organization or community. The ideas will really prove the future, especially for Islamic bright future.
